ABSOLUTELY!!!!! If that were allowed...it would be akin to putting the fox in the hen-house to guard the chickens.

On Do you think state employees should be banned from serving as Legislators?

Note to all you criminals out there...carefull how you respond to this question. I have it on good authority that all "NO" answers will be scrutinized. I pity that one person who has answered already. Just kidding!!!

On Are you concerned about the recent break-ins?

Give up healthcare reform! No! We should move ahead with Tort reform and assurances that insurance can be bought across state lines. If you look at the history in Alabama, frivolous law suits have doled out hundreds of millions of dollars to questionable litigants. Time to stop all that.

On With Ted Kennedy's Senate seat now won by a Republican, should Congress give up health care reform?

The only way to help Haiti in the long term is to make it our 51st state. With a little more than 3 million resident Haitians on the island of Hispanola receiving some 4 billion dollars over the last decade from our treasury, one has to wonder "where's the money" and what infrastructure did it create.

Well...the money went into the pockets of the politicians and the people remain dirt poor as they have been Columbus sailed the Caribe.

Please...NO MORE.

Hey, Mongoose...sounds like my kind of environment...EXCEPT.

We moved to Andalusia in 2004 from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Though we didn't consistently have the kind of weather you discribed, I appreciate the words you speak.

I remember one winter when the temps never reached above freezing for 30 consecutive days. Snow was piled to a depth of 40 plus inches on both sides of my driveway. To top things off, my pile of dry firewood was stacked at the bottom of that driveway under all that snow.

On the other hand, I have been able to ply golf, on average, three times a week since moving to The Wiregrass.

I know its a tough choice, but I'll opt for the latter.

I moved here from Virginia in 2004, in part, to get away from snow and other winter environs. Now that snow is in the forecast, I am somewhat looking forward to its arrival.

However, having left the snow blade, snow blower and assorted snow shovels back home in the Shenandoah Valley, where it was not uncommon to see 20 plus inches, I certainly hope we see no more than half a foot on Thursday.

We haven't exposed even the "tip of the iceberg" yet.

James J. Kilpatrick, now-deceased reporter and TV pundit for decades in the Washington, D.C. area, would have described the above dialog as "Rubbish. Rubbish, I tell you."

While art and cultural exposure is important, lets not lose sight of the basics, Mr. Politician.
