Thank God this young lady was found and she is alive. It could have been tragic. It is obvious the girl made a bad decision, but their is hope for her and her parents. Communication people is the key with your teens this day and time. Stay on top of things and know who they are hanging with. Always be there for them no matter how stupid you might think the question or some little something they might want to talk about, you never know when it could your child that comes up missing. Also I have to agree that they should have stayed on the boyfriend and watched every move he made.

Once again the citizens of Andalusia have been put on lock down in our on homes due to a jailbreak. Yes I am angry but I am not angry with our Sheriff. I am angry at the system. When we have criminals such as this one, Why on earth do you not put them in leg irons, oh I'm sorry I forgot it is a violation of their Civil Rights. Well what about my Civil Rights and my families rights. Two innocent men lost their lives when Oscar Roy Dostor and his accomplice broke out of jail through the air conditioner shafts a few years back. We were put on lock down then in our homes not knowing their whereabouts. The Covington County Jail was not built to used as a Federal Prison, State Prison, etc. It was built to house non-violent criminals and the State of Alabama has let the citizens of Covington County down by not taking their prisoners. Stop blaming the Sheriff and put the blame where it should be placed.

I have one. There were 5 small defenseless little pups thrown off down Padgett Road sometime today or maybe even last night. These pups barely had there teeth. People if you don't want your dogs to have puppies get them spayed or neutered and for God's sake stop throwing the poor babies off and leaving them to mercy of the world. I know that this is beginning to be a major problem for some of the homeowners down that way. They can't take them to pound due to the fact they are out of the city's jurisdiction and they can't come pick them up. Luckily 3 people got involved and the puppies were taken in. I have dogs and cats and I love them as they are family members. Enough is enough if you don't want the animals then get them fixed. And as far as the gentleman who was arrested this is definitely not his first time of being held accountable for such an act and this time he should be charged more than $1000 and more time in jail. Thanks to the landowner there in Red Level he has saved more animals lives by turning this man in and I for one would like to say thankyou very much for doing what you did.

Sherrie knew without a doubt what this would do to her and her career and her family and the people of this county who elected her and entrusted her to serve our county and uphold the law, not to break the law. She knew she would be found guilty of these charges and now she must suffer the consequences. I would like to say to the members of the law officials good job, well done, because you did not let your emotions get in the way of doing the right thing for your city, county, and our state. I know that it was long hours bringing this matter to a closure, but you the law officials did the right thing and you are to be commended, not condemned. Thankyou for all that you did.
Now it is up to the judge to do the sentencing, not the people.

I would like to comment on this matter. This goes for all that have posted their views. This is not about you. This is about the accused, the victims and their families. This has nothing to do with politics. It is not about who is right or who is wrong. It is time for the community to stop all these negative talks and stop slinging racial slurrs. It is time for us to come together and pray for all who are involved in this matter. Unity in Christ is what we all need. Jesus hung on that cross, his blood shed for all of us, and he gave his life for all of us not just one color of our skin. Prayer heals all of things. I know because I was raped. I asked God to heal me. One of the things I had to do was to forgive my attacker. Instead of being a victim I am now a survivor. I thank God everyday. People please pray for all that are involved this is the only way to be healed. Thank you for letting me voice my opinion.

Homecoming week should be the best time of our high school seniors in our community. Yes these other students took things further than they should, but this certainly should not cause the other hundreds of students who just roll yards to be punished. Yes I realize that they are commiting a misdameaner, but as long as these other children go back to the yards that they roll and help clean up these yards. My yard got rolled 4 times last year and each time these students came back and helped me clean my yards. My yard has been rolled 2 times this year and yes these students came back and helped me clean my yards. I realize that this is probably the first time you will see such a comment as this, but I am a mother of 2 high school boys and yes they have many friends of all ages and they are just as mischevious as the next child and if my child is involved in any of the yard rolling or other I would be the parent to step up and have them held responsible for their actions.

I appreciate the fact our Sheriff has taken responsibility for what happened here New Years Day. He is a very fine man and I am very proud of him. I believe in what admin23 said that all of you need to go to the next commission meeting and voice your opinions there and come up with solutions to help instead of blasting the sheriff.
