FtBraggsolider, thanks. It is easy for them to hide behind the internet and type what they want. But I bet, he would not face them . Sad to say, but this is our America today. As also mentioned allowing the lack of respect for what our great military and our sons, daughters, fathers and mothers are doing for the nation that has not come free, but of those like Sgt. Gordon, with thier lives. But we have to allow the freedom of those that would not do as he has or willing to even join to defend is sicking. Thanks for all that serve, if we did not have such ,that allow fear to be only a word, we are in trouble. Lead by Example and I bet those that Sgt Gordon had any contact with saw such leadership. Again preyers and our blessing to him, and the others that serve . THANK YOU FOR OUR FREEDOM AND WHAT YOU DID FOR US, Sgt. David Gordon, SERVING PROUDLY.

We all feel the same ,except a select few. His actions of his death was from being in combat. One must not just be in direct contact with the enemy. He was deployed within the area of operations, what ever his mission was, he did do the ultimate, that many would not even consider. Sgt. Gordon may god bless you and again thank you for serving our great country and those within covington county. We have been blesed for what you have given up for our freedom. Lets all come out to support him, and for what he stood for.

God Bless David and the loss of a young man that we in Covington county are sure to miss. He was a young man that had morals and values, We should only look to him for that example we hope others will follow. He was a good person and as most know a fine sportsman as well. Prayers to the family. David as I had told you before we were proud of what you did not only for Covingotn county but our great nation. God Bless you for your help in protecting our way of life. May god be with your family Sgt. David Gordon, and may god be with your mom and family during this tough time. Diane you raised a brave and pround young man. Thank you for his service to our community and country.

The movement of bashing Mrs. Petty is one that will continue. If we can all recall, it was those seeking election that stated that these types of things would not continue. But again just remember that as many have said in the past as well, promises were and have been broken. Yes the Sheriff is the one that gives the raise, but sad to say he also is controlled by those in certain positions, not just the commissioners, but the Chairman, and the Adminstrator . I rememeber Greg White when he was Chairman, and again they failed to live up to their committment to their employees. Where are we going, it is unknown , but also it is sad to say, as in most jobs, the employees need thier jobs, so they stay quiet. Stop the leaders from seeking and getting re-elected for their failures.

At least there will be hopefully an alternative plan for their Comp time, due the lack of concern from the last commision meeting and the their lack of taking care of the employees. Are they still going to be allowed to shut down during the Christmas holiday and the Fourth of July week. With the comp time change. Just wondering were the Chairman and crew are taking us. Making employees take time off or loose their vacation and comp. Start paying our workers and maybe you would get a better response of caring and then makes changes that hurt the employees due to the MISTAKES of you the LEADERS every year at the end of fiscal year time crunch. Start at the top of the pay roll, and we all know who that is.

The idea to have county employees to use their comp time, ,prior to vacation is another step of failure of leadership with this group. With the shortage of employees now, and to add another burden to the Sheriff's Office and Jail is absurd. They are as it is having to cover when others are off when an emergency comes up and then to MADATE they take off, or loose the time is so sad. They make life harder for thier employees. Hopefully the wage and earnings board will make another stop. However sadly as well most need their jobs, and not until a complaint is made to them ,they probably will not be here. But again I guess let the Queen run the show.
