If the County levy's a 1 cent tax I believe that only the County School System should benefit from it. The county Schools do not benefit from City of Opp having a 1 cent tax. So they shouldn't benefit from the county's one cent tax.

Thats right lookeyhere....Those people riding those tractors around are risking their lives....They should be making more.....And BTW a deputies job is not just in a police car.....I just think for the training that they go thru to be a law enforcement officer they should make more than the non-trainable jobs in the county. Oh yeah another thought.....The commissioners shouldn't be making 25k a year either...They are part time. There is no way their job should be making more than some of the full time employees of the county.

The county has people mowing grass that are making well more than the deputies!!!! HOW STUPID IS THIS!

I played ball back when the city and county combined for a year. It was never equal. And the allstar teams definitely were not either. Andalusia has the good ol' boy system and if you parents don't know so and so your kid won't play. Why can't the county just foot the bill to build some ball fields to play on in ANDALUSIA and let the kids play for their schools team. Its convenient to the parents to not have to drive to Andy to practice all the time. Come on County Build Ball fields, and lets not depend on Dwight Mikel and the city for anything!

The memorial service is being held just were it should be......Right where the family wants it. The Red Level High School Auditorium where David was always at when he was home. I believe Red Level is the most fitting place for the funeral for this great American Hero. If the Senior Citizens want to honor him they can do it at Red Level just as good as they can at Bullards Arena. And I'm sure the Flag of the City's was a simply mistake, it will probably be lowered soon. Maybe a call to the City just to let them know they overlooked that flag would help!. THANKS!

My thoughts and prayers are out to David and and his family! Please keep them in your prayers as well. I really hope the county will be able to honor him as he lay his life down for his country.

Alright All those expenses equaled 5,465,800 .....The general fund revenue estimated is 7.12 million with 2 million on gas tax revenue...Thats 9.12 million already...???? How bout with that 3.8 or so million dollars left the county employees get a much deserved raise.....Also all that is is the budget, but how much of all that are you (Brenda) going to allow the department heads to spend????

If this report is accurate about our county's finances being better this year than they were last year, why aren't all of the county employees getting their COLA raise for the year. (In an article earlier in the week it stated that county employees would not receive COLA raises). This is pathetic that your can't give your hourly employee's raises at this time. The county is broke and stupid. They make people get comp time for working overtime then when they take off from getting all this time they have to give someone else comp time for working for them. You are right that they do not have to pay anyone at the time, but this is just something that is building up more and more. We need people that know how to run the county......How about the county address this issue in the paper? And also how about the county reschedule the meetings for in the evenings so that concerned employee's and citizens can be there to voice their concerns......Thats why they don't, because they don't care about the people of the county that got them where they are. They are there taking up a pay check in the county....You want to know where I think the county can save money???? Do away with road commissioners (They are pointless). I've talked to mine more than 5 times about the road I live on and the driveway that "I" paid to have put down that was not done right. They aren't too worried....I bet their road is in excellent condition.....We the citizens need to take back our county from the idiots running it!

I think that all the elected officials need to be impeached or whatever. They all are incapable of running a their own household, must less the county.

How about this....Opp - you have your tax and take what money you make off of it because Andy nor County Schools saw any of that 600,000 dollars. Andy - You make your own 1 cent tax and take your money, and leave the county along. Let the county do this 1 cent tax for our schools. COUNTY LEADERS make this tax for COUNTY SCHOOLS only......You all should be trying to make our county schools better...
