Such a tragic loss of life....it never ceases to amaze., and I know these deer this time of the year are constantly jumping out in front of me, luckily I manage to see them prior to hitting then, but being on a motorcyle and hitting one is just plain tragic and horrible. My deepest sympathies to this family in this their time of darkest need, God bless and be with you.

Well, I don't live in the city, I live in the country, but I can't imagine living in the city and my neighbor shooting squirrels out of my trees...that's just ludicrous that someone can actually do that. It would scare me to death, cause not everyone knows how to operate a firearm, and probably a lot of the ones shooting were minors, and it's too easy for a stray bullet to go through a neighbors window, injure, or actually fatally wound the occupant, and kids do still climb trees, my grandchildren do...so I think it's a good idea to stop this practice. Let the city purchase traps and citizens can sign them out and catch the pests and then call the city to dispose of them....that's a good idea. And yes, I have squirrels in my trees here, and I don't allow anyone to shoot them, I think they are one of God's beautiful creatures...and yes, when I grew up, we did eat them, fried, in gravy, and yes, the brains too....my dad and sister and me fought over the heads...that was a lot of years ago....I'm done...

Glad they got her tail...they need to get the rest of them that are selling prescription pills for profit when they themselves are defrauding the government and/or their insurance companies, then selling the pills for a profit...it's just wrong....I have a list of folks that will be handed over to the Sheriff's Dept just as soon as I get it completed.....and I will follow up to make sure the "good ole boy" system don't screw it up!

We put tamihamm! It shouldn't matter that this young man died from a illness that he contracted, he was IN A COMBAT SITUATION! People, please show some respect! Wachovia Bank is nothing but a JOKE anyways...I will never bank with that bank again! I did in previous years, but due to some other circumstances have been away from them for several years...I commend this solder and will fly my flag in my yard at half mast in his honor! I am a US citizen and I have a right, I don't need permission for O-freakin Bama! God Bless Sgt. David Gordon and I thank you for your service to our country, and my deepest sympathies and prayers go out for his family in this their time of need....

rkb1940! Your post is absolutely HEAD ON! I loved reading it....it brought back so many vivid memories ofmy childhood being raised in the system of Florala's schools....I actually started school at what is now the MIddle School but what was in the 60s, Florala City School...I attended 1st through 3rd grade there, then subsequently my family moved to the country, so I had to be attending W.S. Harlen....things are changed so very much since I attended school, and I haven't actually kept up with this too much because I know there's nothing I can say that can change things...but as I sit here and reminisce (sp) it actally brings tears to my eyes knowing that this school that has housed so many student throughout the years will now become a tomb....it's so sad....it's such a beautiful old building, and what will become of it. I for one, do not agree that 7-8 graders should be comingled with highschoolers, but that's my opinion.
If yall think we have problems now without youth, just sit back and watch it now. I know of one teenager personally who will be relocated to another state immediately due to her overexposure to kids older than her, and her acting out and doing things that ordinarily she probably wouldn't do. Our kids just don't have the instilled values these days that we had in our day. That's the school systems fault as well as the parents.....but comingling these younger students with older ones is just gonna be a trainwreck! Riding the schoolbus twice a day with older students is totally different than them being involved daily with them...as always, kids will be kids, but good kids go bad much easier....nuff said....just needed to vent a bit! I'll miss this school...I'm so glad my children are grown now, and my grandchildren don't live in Florala, therefore, they won't be exposed to this mess!

God be with this family and Keith. As a victim of this disease, my mother was a courageous spirit. She lost her battle to this horrible disease on March 15, 2004, but her beautiful smile and fighting personality remains a constant reminder that she never gave up. I love you momma and miss you terrible. God bless this family as they go through these tough times, and I pray that Keith remains strong in his faith and determination.
