Just curious as to where you think the children should go to school? Because we live just inside Conecuh County (way outside the Evergreen city limits) our kids should be forced to go 15 minutes to Evergreen City Schools? Even though no bus from Evergreen even comes near us? Last time I checked, we are considered out of towners everywhere but in the town of Paul.

I guess we should just teach our kids at home until we get our own school built here!

Umm.. Your tax dollars go to all public school systems.
I agree funding needs to be redirected. I dont think the 1-2 mile drive for that bus to pick up kids is breaking the school system.

Maybe simple desktops would have been fine instead of touch screen desktops and flat screen TVs. I am the first person to raise their hand and say that the kids need more access to technology at school.. BUT that's a bit overboard.

Besides, we live in between Red Level and Evergreen.. Its a 15 minute drive to get to either school. Why should we be forced to go to Evergreen? 1 mile from my house is zoned as an Andalusia Zip Code.. No buses come out to where we are to pick up the kids. We have to drive them to school or drive them to the county line to meet a bus. Why shouldnt we have the right to choose which school our children go to?

I'm sorry but don't our tax dollars go to all schools? I don't recall seeing a letter that says my tax dollars only go to Conecuh County schools because I live in Conecuh County. We shouldnt have to pay "extra" for our children to go to a better school and get a better education.

If I drive my children from Paul to Red Level so they can have a better school experience and so that they can learn more than just "how to protect yourself from getting beat up, threatened, and/or harrassed daily at school", then I should have to pay MORE for my child to have a good education at a PUBLIC school?

If that's the point you are making, then I guess all of us that live out in the country should just run on up to Sparta Academy.

Like I said before, its not like the bus is traveling 10-15 miles out of their way. Its 1-2 miles. I would be in total agreement if they were driving miles upon miles out of their way. But I think that ALL parents reserve the right to have their child in a school they feel is better.. I think if I chose to drive my child to Andalusia every day because they have a good arts program then I should be able to. I think if someone who lives in Florala wants to drive their child to Andalusia they should be able to. It is our right as tax payers of the Public School System. Not just because you don't live in the correct "Zone".

"One bus in Red Level makes one stop and picks up more than half of its load at the Conecuh County Line."

I just wanted to clear this up... I live in Conecuh County and my cousin is one of the kids that gets picked up at the bus stop at the County Line..

The bus driver lives about a mile and a half from the Bus Stop where they pick the kids up.. Its not like the bus is traveling 10-15 miles out of the way.. The school system agreed to that because it wasn't costing money for them to be picked up AND because anyone who has been to the schools in Evergreen know its not exactly a safe school system for kids.

I have my own issues with the Shelter in Andalusia.. Mainly, the hours.. Has anyone tried to adopt animals from there? I have. I had to take off work just to go up there to pick up my dogs.. They are only open from like 10-2 (with a 1 hour lunch) and closed on Saturdays.. Its almost impossible to adopt from there.. I've been to alot of shelters in the surrounding counties and they are open all day and on Saturday..

Maybe instead of euthanizing the animals, they could stay open a little longer!

Losing Money?? Not surprised..
Circus, Monster Truck, and Horses? So besides the Horse Shows, the other events only come once maybe twice a year...

Why didnt they build the arena to house other events that don't involve a dirt floored Arena?

Concerts, Conventions, Markets Anyone?
Another problem with the Arena is advertising.. Anyone ever been to a Competitive Horse Show/Rodeo or even an Arena in general.. What do you see? Beer and Tobacco ads.. Anyone questioned why our Arena doesnt have sponsorship from the Big Spenders like Bud Light?

Like I said previously.. Whether he did or didnt do it wasn't my point.. My point is that anyone that abuses animals and is FOUND GUILTY should pay more than $1000.00 fine.

Its not about a hang em attitude.. Its about the Animal Abuse Laws in this nation.. You can't tell me that its perfectly justifiable for someone to starve an animal to death or beat them horribly and only pay $1000.00.

I wasn't talking about him directly.
I'm saying regardless of who it is.. $1000.00 for killing animals is ridiculous. Our laws for animal cruelty should be harsher than that. I live and work in Red Level and I've never even heard of him or his organization.

Apparently the Police Officers felt the animals were being abused/starved.. Whether its his fault or the land owners.. Somebody should be held responsible..

And it should be more than a $1000.00 fine.

$1,000 ??!!
This infuriates me..... My husband and I have saved 2 dogs from the Shelter in Andalusia.. It is absolutely insane that someone can pay $1000 and get away with killing 5 animals and endangering the lives of 20 others.

How sad our world is..

She remained in office because everyone in Covington County was afraid of her! Its hard to stand up against someone that has "all the powerful people" behind her. That's exactly why she has gotten away with everything she has..
