Yes. Let's expose them. I am interested in knowing who they are. I have heard rumors that there are those like that on our force, but I have never had absolute evidence and names. If they are doing that, then they don't need to be on the police force and in the sheriff's department.

By all means, cut the ones that are not any good. Do NOT cut the good ones that the students are able to work with. Cut the ones that don't do their jobs. Most of the instructors at LBWCC are excellent, but there are some out there who only fill an office and are just there to earn a paycheck. Forget seniority! If they are not working to teach the students, then get rid of them.

I totally agree Jim. The Christian Service Center and places like that are set up to help those who really need it. It is a good cause, but, like any charitable thing, it does get abused. I wish there was a screening process. If someone loses their job and needs a little help until they get on their feet, I don't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is those that get approved and then keep getting the handout after they have gone back to work because they would rather spend their money on other things instead of groceries. The Christian Service Center does a wonderful thing for Covington County. They help folks in other ways besides just food distribution, so, to all of you out there who are abusing the food distribution, please stop so that the ones who really NEED it can be taken care of. Let's step up and do what is right so that the Christian Service Center can continue to help others.

I hope and pray that BeautifulMe never shows up on a jury of a murderer. That person will surely get off!!! I agree that God judges, but Sherrie did wrong and she should be punished. She was judged here on earth.

On Attorney: Retirement, law license could be lost

She has betrayed the trust of all of Covington County citizens. What is even worse, she is showing no remorse for her actions. I agree that Sherrie is not being treated as a "common" person. Look at the record of arrests for yesterday. You don't see Sherrie Phillips' name listed. It wasn't listed when she was arrested initially either. Already she is getting exceptional treatment. She absolutely knew what she was doing was wrong because of the way she handled the file. She kept it in her office. There was no record of the file in the Probate Office. Also, she opened the account with Bill Greenwald in her name with her social security number. How dumb does her attorney think the people of Covington County are? He is acting as if she didn't mean to defraud anyone. Yeah, right!!! She should lose her retirement. She has already made her money by stealing from dead people and their families. Also, she should lose her law license. She knew better but she chose to use her office for personal gain anyway. She knew the law and she broke it anyway. Poor Sherrie!!! Now she will have to get out and earn her living by the sweat of her brow. She will have to barely survive when she retires like the rest of the older people in Covington County. They have to decide whether to pay their light bill or eat for the month. Why should she be any different??? Her lawyer wants to make comments about "common" people, well, that is how "common" people live when they get old!!! Also, I would declare a mistrial because the judge knew her when she was in law school. He taught her. That means he was affiliated with her. He must have lied also when he took the case. I hope we get an unbiased judge who will throw the book at her in her appeals process.

Why is Sherrie Phillips' name not recorded with the other arrests? Do you think she is special???

I agree with cookie. She does need to be prayed for, but I can also sympathize with everyone else. We all feel like she betrayed the trust of the people of Covington County. This betrayal makes people mad. The worst part is that she is still smiling and she has shown no remorse. Personally, I could take all of this a little better if she would at least quit smiling and show that she is sorry. I hope that one day she will be truly sorry and repent and that the Lord will have mercy on her soul.

Amen, patwilliam!!! Preach on!!! The problem is that amazed doesn't agree with what you are saying, so amazed feels that he/she needs to condemn you for your opinion. The first amendment protects our rights. We have the right to our own opinions. Amazed does not have to agree with everyone's opinions because they are just that - OPINIONS. Opinions are like belly buttons - everyone has one. Just because you don't agree with someone else's opinion does not make either of you wrong or right. It is simply your point of view. Yes, Sherrie did wrong. Yes, she should pay for her mistakes. Those statements do not mean that anyone hates Sherrie. I would make those same statements for any criminal. If you do the crime (regardless of who you are) you should do the time. If you rob a bank, then you should be punished. I guess that statement makes me a hater on bank robbers also, huh? Let's all keep this in perspective and respect each other and the feelings and opinions of each other. This is nothing to start a war over.

I have lost all hope in the judicial system in this case. I have never in my life seen such politics in a court case!!! She needs to be strung up from her toenails in the highest tree. Also, the judge has proven that he is crooked also because he knew her and taught her and didn't open his mouth. Why did the newspaper not report this fact until now either??? I give up!!!!!!
