On County moving to unit system

Posted on January 10 at 7:13 p.m. (Suggest removal)

The all time issue of $$$$$$$$$$. During the County Commission Election David Ellis talked about the UNIT system. In a few of the first meetings with the new Commissioners also discussed the UNIT system and how it had saved Elmore County at least ONE MILLION DOLLARS, then the reality set in the commissioners would have to let some of their friends go and not be able to do free favors for people like dirt hauling and fixing driveways. If the unit system could save ONE MILLION DOLLARS DO IT! There is no justification in Covington County having 4 county yards with all the staff and equipment to go along with it. With the massive money crisis that the county is in, looks like the commission and the administrator would want to cut expenses (don't laugh). EXAMPLE why 12 people at the engineers office, the arena manager, and who knows how many others have take home vehicles with free fuel. I have to drive my own vehicle to work and buy my own gas so why can't they? Why are there so many employees for the county?
How many times have you been in the administration building and saw people with nothing to do but sit at their desk and read books or magizines and shop on the internet. Go to a district yard and all the staff are sitting down with nothing to do? Start out first with the unit system and see how much that will save, then look at the people who really have nothing to do alot of the time they are at work and put them part time. I think the situation has got bad enough for drastic change and that is why alot of people voted some new commissioner and a new chairman into office. SO CHAIRMAN SASSER AND COMMISSIONERS WAKE UP AND DO WHAT YOU WERE ELECTED TO DO AND GET THIS COUNTY BACK ON TRACK AND PULL US OUT OF THE PAST 10 YEARS OF CORRUPTION AND FILLING THE SAME PEOPLES POCKETS FULL OF MONEY. DO WHAT YOU PROMISED THE CITIZENS YOU WOULD DO. GET THE PEOPLE GONE THAT NEEDED TO BE GONE A LONG TIME AGO AND GET US BACK TO THE STATE WE NEED TO BE IN OR RESIGN AND LET SOMEONE ELSE TAKE YOUR PLACE THAT IS NOT IN THIS FOR THE POLITICS AND DOES NOT MIND FIRING PEOPLE OR CUTTING THEIR HUGE SALARY BECAUSE IT MIGHT COST YOU A FEW VOTES OR HURT SOMEONES FEELINGS. REMEMBER YOU RUN THIS COUNTY NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR!

I have been in APD and you have to have a code to get into a door from the outside so why in the world don't you have to have one to get out? This is not the first person that has escaped from APD while inside the building. HELLO Chief Williams spend some of that money on securing your building instead of the new vehicles.

It is very true that Sherri is working as a lawyer in geneva alabama with David Harrison. My guess is that she is swapping some work for David to be her criminal defense attorney. Rumor is she still has not paid Earl Johnson. There is alot of people that knew the real Sherri at the courthouse and how she was the high queen judge and dare anyone to question her or some of the off the wall decisions she made and the many jobs that have taken place in the probate office over the years like baby sitter and raising dogs. I want to know if the AG's office is also going to get the select 2 or 3 that are acting as administrators over the people that had a little money for the Probate Judges office wonder how much money, land, personal property, ect. they have stolen? Alot of people have the right idea............ Open all her cases for a minimum of the last 6 years and see how much money has been taken, we might just find there are several million dollars she or some of her family has gotten. I would be really interested in the family member that has the business that employs illegal immigrants.

On Phillips’s criminal trial date set for Oct. 27

I agree, Phillips should not be on a "paid leave" from her $80,000.00 a year judges seat. She also is practicing law at an attorneys office in geneva alabama and I am sure she is not working for free. So she is getting double paychecks for breaking the law........It must be nice

On Judges won’t hear Phillips case
