....btw Richard Robertson has never held anybody back in athletics. If there is someone "so good" in sports they can still make it. Has anybody ever heard of "walking on?" To hold Richard Robertson responsible for someone not making it in athletics is unfair. I'm so thrilled that my children are not raised in this little town.

Southern Attitude I think it's very rude and inappropriate for you to make these personal attacks against a man in a community newpaper. How would you feel if people wrote in and attacked you or your loved one? I guess it's very easy though being that you are making your comments under your code name. You would never sign your name to these comments as you have chosen the cowardly way out. If you are bold enough to personally attack Richard Robertson and say his full name in a newspaper you should also stop being a coward and post your REAL name so that he can defend himself. Otherwise, bury your head in the sand. You're not worthy.

Our new president has enough on his plate to clean up! Look at the mess George Bush and his Republican party has made. I can't believe people are actually nit-picking about making sure children are taught that Lincoln's War (no such thing) was fought because of taxes and not slavery. What about our present war? What about our soldiers over seas now? What about our economy? What about people losing their houses to foreclosure? What about people losing their jobs? What about all these things but people are worried about children being able to wear a confederate flag on their clothing? Unbelievable! It's a new day people. Come into the light because the back-in-the-day, confederate flag, KKK time has passed. You will never get it back. People need to get over their CHRISTIAN prejudice and support our new president instead of digging ditches for him and washing themselves with racism. If you didn't ask Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Truman, Roosevelt, etc. before now....WHY WOULD YOU WAIT UNTIL 2008 to decide you want children to be taught that there was a "Lincoln War" because of taxes? Why now? I'm disgusted.

Who in their right mind would want their child to wear clothing that displayed a confederate flag? You are actually requesting that our new president go back in time and re-write history books to change the events of a war? Why haven't you asked your previous presidents, teachers in the community, and state's officials to change it before now? Why haven't you marched to the high school, middle school, and elementary school and voiced your opinion before now? Is that you really don't have an opinion and you're looking for something to say because you're so upset about our new president being black?
