Virginia Hales Hartin

Virginia Hales Hartin, 81, of Red Level, died Monday, July 29, 2002 in a Dothan hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31 at 2 p.m. from Foreman Funeral Home with burial in Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. Drexel Copeland and Rev. Leroy Cole officiating.

Survivors include a son and daugher-in-law, Wayne and Linda Hartin of Andalusia; two daughters and a son-in-law, Joanne Kelley of Andalusia and Betty and Joseph Kelley of Carriere Mississippi; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Willie Bell (Bill) Colvin

Willie Bell (Bill) Colvin, 92, of Andalusia, died Saturday, July 27, 2002 in a local nursing home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Good News Chapel in Rose Hill with Keahey Funeral Home directing and Rev. Jay Driver officiating. Special music will be provided by Tim Morgan and the Good News Chapel Choir.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Geral and Claudett Colvin of Andalusia; Henry Mack and Samartha Colvin of Axis; a son-in-law, Jack Brawner of Andalusia; two sisters-in-law, Mamie Colvin of Andalusia; Ruby Colvin of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; Dr. Daniel L. Colvin of Citia, Fla.; Corlis A. Floyd of Montgomery; David Brawner of Andalusia; Dr. Dale Brawner of Birmingham; Dayley Colvin of Pensacola; Padgett Ann Colvin; Keith Colvin of Mobile; Dwan Colvin and Devlin Colvin; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Colvin and a daughter, Valencia Brawner.

Serving as pallbearers were the grandsons.

Edna Gavin Mancil, of Andalusia, died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Woodrow Plant officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Mancil; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Mary Mancil; Tim and Stephanie Mancil; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Cindy and George Oglesby; daughter Elle L. Mancil, all of Andalusia; daughter and Kay and John Taylor of Montgomery; Judy Lawson of Andalusia; sister Claudine Ritch of Montgomery; grandsons, Brant Oglesby, Jarrod Oglesby and Robbie Lawson; and granddaughter, Courtney Mancil;

and numerous nieces and nephews.

James Louis Worthington

James Louis Worthington, 85, of Montgomery, died Friday, July 26, 2002 in a Birmingham hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Ganus officiating. Special music was provided by the family.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and LaWanda Worthington of Phenix City; James Lomax and Carol Worthington of Como, Miss.; Frank and Lumyai Worthington of Bonaire, Ga.; Stevie and Ann Worthington of Montgomery; three daughters and sons-in-law; Sylvia and Christopher St. Claire of Antelope, Calif.; Beatrice and Penni Cohen of Tarzana, Calif.; Kathy and Tommy Millsapa, of Vanore, Tenn.; two brothers, Willie Ray Worthington of Canada; Gaston Worthington of Andalusia; three sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Archie of Seabring, Fla.; Betty Jean Meadows of Enterprise; Sybil and Ed Morrow of Andalusia; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Adell Worthington.

Lorraine Briggs Johnson

Lorraine Briggs Johnson, 81, of Andalusia, died Saturday, July 27, 2002 in a Birmingham hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Faircloth, Rev. Buddy King and Rev. Herb Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Special music was provided by Don Lingle soloist and Jeanice Kirkland organist.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Turner Johnson of Andalusia; a daughter, Mary Janet Johnson of Birmingham; a brother, Robert Briggs of Meridian, Miss.; two sisters, Mary Briggs of Porterville, Miss.; and Hazel Small of Hope Hull; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Taylor, Frank Moore, Frank King, Walter Ray Fowler, Preston Morrow, Richard Krudop and Garrett Pass, Frank King and Jurell Davis.
