Fans of Gamecock football and stock-car racing will receive a special offer this week, according to officials at Jacksonville State University and the Talladega Superspeedway.

An announcement was made Tuesday regarding the special offer at JSU Football Media Day event held at NASCAR's "Most Competitive Track."

Fans of Gamecock football and Talladega Superspeedway may purchase a special offer where they can leave the driving to JSU. The package includes two tickets to events at JSU and Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The package includes round-trip transportation from JSU's field house to Talladega Superspeedway, lunch and beverages in the JSU tent inside the track's Hospitality Village, a ticket to the day's events, including NASCAR Winston Cup Series Happy Hour and the ARCA Re/Max Series Food World 300.

After the conclusion of track events, the fans will return to the Gamecock Club to enjoy hors d'oeuvres before the classic college football rivalry of Jacksonville State vs. Samford University at Paul Snow Memorial Stadium. At each event, the fans will also receive a special souvenir commemorating the action-packed day. The entire package is offered for $99. Fans can call (256) 761-4702 and request the Gamecock offer to purchase tickets.

"We are appreciative of Talladega Superspeedway's continued support of Jacksonville State University athletics," JSU Athletic Director

Tom Seitz said. "This new ticket promotion will enhance the existing relationship that we have already established with the speedway."

"There are a lot of fans of both Gamecock football and Talladega Superspeedway across the southeast," Talladega Superspeedway Vice President and General Manager Rick Humphrey said. "This is a unique way to experience it all in a day."
