Bowlers aim for league titles

It is almost halfway through the season and the Alley Cats are in first place followed by the Last Call and Roll Tide teams in the Sunday Night Mixed League. The Strike Seekers and The Unpredictables round out the standings.

Last week's top bowlers among the men were Phillip Neal and Eugene Lassiter. Neal had a good week with the best scratch game (243), scratch series (657) and handicap game (741). Lassiter had the best handicap game score with a 283.

Maryann Andrews

had the top scratch scores among the women with a 199 scratch game and a 485 scratch series. Candie Chandler had a 257 handicap game for top honors. Janice Kelley had the best handicap series with a score of 737.

TUESDAY NIGHT

LADIES LEAGUE

The Nothin but Trouble team is in first place after 12 weeks of the 16-week season. The Covington County Bank squad is in second followed by the Three Bananas team and the Bowling Angels. Rounding out the rest of the standings are the Burning Embers team, "Bowl" Weebles and Just Whatever.

Melody Gunter had two of the top scores last week with a 200 scratch game and a 524 scratch series. Amy Bullock had the best handicap game with a 242. Dot Zaenger had the best handicap series with a 647.

THURSDAY MORNING

COFFEE LEAGUE

After 13 weeks, The Rat team is in first place followed by the Loner squad and the Spice Girl team. The Shroom team is in fourth place followed by the Solo team and The Brat team.

Butch Lints was the top bowler among the men with a 207 scratch game, 524 scratch series, 250 handicap game and 653 handicap series.

Vicki Gatson was the top bowler among the women with a 186 scratch game, 475 scratch series, 242 handicap game and 643 handicap series.

THURSDAY NIGHT

MIXED LEAGUE

The Intimidators are in first place after 13 weeks of the 16-week season with the Always "One" squad in second and the Trauma Team in third. The PFUI!, Kinfolk and Granny's Brood round out the rest of the standings.

Bryant Coldwell was among the top bowlers with a 639 handicap series.

Melody Gunter was the best scratch bowler among the women with a 205 scratch game and a 557 scratch series. Vicki Gaston had the best handicap game with a 250. Joy Terry had the best handicap series with a 649 handicap series.
