Era Hall Kelley

Era Hall Kelley, 91, of Pleasant Home community, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002 at her residence.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Fred J. Kelley and Rev. Fred R. Kelley. Burial will follow in Pleasant Home Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

Survivors include

five sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Jearldyne Kelley of Lewisville, Texas, Joe and Bonita Kelley, Billy Kelley, Jamie Kelley, all of Andalusia, and John Kelley of Robertsville; five daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Carl Talbert of Winterpark, Fla, Charlotte Thomasson, Alice Davis, both of Andalusia, Sue Willis of Waynesville, N.C. and Cynthia and Mark Gunter of River Falls; 33 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Prestwood of Andalusia, Louise Davis of Marion, N.C., and Naomi Buskirk of Opelika; and a sister-in-law, Juanita Hall of Wilsonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Kelley; two grandsons, Lee Thomasson and Rusty Willis; a sister, Ruth Alderman; and three brothers, Ralph Hall, Fred Hall, and Roscoe Hall. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Virginia Hale Macon

Virginia Hale Macon, 88, a long time resident of Andalusia, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002 in a local hospital.

An active member of the First United Methodist Church for almost 50 years, she taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery and served as an honorary member of the administrative board. She was a member of the Mae Maddox Sunday School Class.

A funeral was held Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Judd Stinson officiating. Burial followed at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, John and Joy Macon Jr. of Niceville, Fla. and Billy Macon of Montgomery; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bob Brown of Macon, Ga.; grandchildren, Jaune Pierce and husband, Ralph, Joann Norris and husband, Mark, Shea Bryars and husband, Carter, Ryan Eiland and Russ Eiland; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith White of Jackson of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Fred Hale of Cullman; and a very special close friend, Mary Johnson of Andalusia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Macon, Sr.

Memorials may be made to the nursery or building fund of the First United Methodist Church of Andalusia.

Pallbearers were James Bristow, Ken Childree, Jimmy Eiland, James Joy, Eddie King and John Vick. Honorary pallbearers were Judge Bill Baldwin, O.T. Brewer, Jack Studstill and Mae Maddox Sunday School Class.

Martha Sport Fowler

Martha Sport Fowler, 81, of the Clearview community, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002 in a local hospital.

A funeral was held Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Etheridge officiating. Eulogy and poem by granddaughter, Lisa Odom. Burial followed in Stone Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances (Donnon) Bryan of Elba and Juanita (Donald) Bowers of Clearview; two sons, Greg Fowler of River Falls and Jerry (Janie) Fowler of Clearview; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Sport of Muldrow, Okla.; and a sister, June Hollis of Glencoe.

Pallbearers will be Tim Burns, Kenny Shiver, Chris Bryan, Roger Odom, Keith Shiver, Jeremy Fowler, Paul Fowler and Chase Fowler.

Nettie R. Archie

Nettie R. Archie, 81, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002 in Sebring, Fla.

A funeral was held Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Ganus officiating. Special music was provided by son-in-law, Wayne Bodiford. Burial will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Wayne Bodiford of Sebring; two sisters, Syble Morrow of Andalusia and Betty Jones of Enterprise; two brothers, Gaston Worthington of Andalusia and Willie Ray Worthington of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.; and two grandchildren, Brady Bodiford and Suzanne Bodiford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Archie and her parents, Clifford C. and Letha B. Worthington.
