Kevin Peel's season at South Alabama Speedway started with two feature wins during the annual Rattler Weekend and his success has continued all season. Saturday night, Peel took home his 14th winner's trophy of the year.

Peel started fifth in the 25-lap feature. By the fourth lap, Peel was second and took the lead from Ken Gibson three laps later. Last week's winner Mike Johnston was also able to get past Gibson late in the race, but by then, Peel had checked out. Gibson held on to finish third, followed by Doug Rogers and Jamie Ater.

In the Super Stock Feature, Scotty Anderson led flag to flag to take his 11th win of the season. Last week's winner David Ashley came from the 12th starting spot to take second place, passing Rick Northey with two

laps to go. Northey finished a strong third after starting tenth. Bill Brown finished fourth with Harold Hurt fifth.

Timbo Kendrick won an exciting Street Stock Feature. With Kendrick leading the way, the front five cars raced in a pack all race. Brian Martin made several attempts to get by Kendrick on the outside. The last attempt came with two laps to go and when the two got together in turn three, Martin slid up the track allowing Tim Hudson and Derek Deese to get by. Kendrick led Hudson, Deese, Martin and Danny Cooper to the flag.

In the Roadrunner Feature, Perry Boin took the lead from Jerry Hudson on lap 14 of the 20-lap feature and went on to win his fourth feature of the season. The lead changed hands five times during the race. Sam Smith took the early lead before Todd Boswell got by for one lap. Smith regained the lead on lap 7 before Hudson passed him on lap nine.

Boin got by Hudson and then had to hold Hudson off to take the win. Ricky Osborn finished third ahead of Smith and Kim Bishop.

Next week South Alabama Speedway will have heats and features for the Super Stock, Modified, Street Stock, Roadrunner and Vintage Cars. For more information, contact the track at (334) 565-3539 or visit the track's web site at www.southalabamaspeedway.com
