Harlan L. Ptomey

Harlan L. Ptomey, 75, of Andalusia died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002 at his residence.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jason Green officiating. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Special music was provided by Vickie Ptomey, soloist.

Survivors include wife, Frances Ptomey of Andalusia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Rickey Jones, Andalusia, Sara and Claude Boone, Mobile; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Vickie Ptomey of Andalusia; five grandchildren, Christopher Jones of Andalusia, Whitney Jones of Andalusia, Allison Walker of Mobile, Joshua Boone and Mobile, Amy Boone Mobile; half-brother, Cowart Ptomey of Houston, Tx.; special niece, Jane Knighton of Gulfshores.

Pallbearers will be MV. Stokes, James Rabren, Fred Simpler, COnrad Fowler, Glen Huggins, Velt Newton.

Fannie Danford Carpenter

Fannie Danford Carpenter, 78, a lifelong resident of Clio, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at her daughter's residence in Jack, after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. from the Sykes Creek Baptist Church in Cilo with Rev. Randy Adams and Rev. Tommy Fortune officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home of Clio directing. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home and the body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ella Carpenter of Jack; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tal, Jr. and Judy Carpenter of Montgomery, Harold and Lisa Carpenter of Andalusia; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Tal Carpenter, Sr.

Dorothy Blizzard

Dorothy Blizzard, 74, formerly of Andalusia, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002 in Colquitt, Ga.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 19 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Stone Lakes Garden Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include son, Gary Henderson of Tampa, Fla.; daughters, Rebecca Ray of Colquitt, Ga., Julie Knurek, Tampa, Lisa Coleman of Tampa; two sisters, Josephine McClain of Andalusia, Evelyn Crosby of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Blizzard.

W.E. Chesser

W.E. Chesser, 96, of Red Level died Tuesday, Sept.17, 2002.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pigeon Creek Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

The family will recieve friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include wife, Abilene Chesser of Red Level; daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Ned Wells of Opp; two sisters, Bess Maynard of Andalusia and Eva Sweatt of Red Level; two grandchildren, Dr. Kathy Payne of Andalusia and Elaine Scott; three great-grandchildre; two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Griel Chesser, Bushe Chesser, Ken Chesser, Carroll Chesser and Bruce Chesser.

Honorary pallbearers are Halcott Curry, DeeWee Nickels, Billy turner, Gene Stallings, Ray Castleberry, James Ingram.

Flowers will be accepted or contribution to charity of choice.
