Stuart, Parker win AWGA Invitational

Nell Stuart of Evergreen and Claire Parker of Montgomery teamed up to win the 2002 AWGA Invitational at Andalusia Country Club on Saturday.

Stuart and Parker recorded a round of 66 to win the Championship A Flight. Joyce Kaysing and Susan Baiker finished in second with a round of 70.

In the Championship B Flight, the mother-and-daughter duo of Gloria Ellers and Jacque Griffin won with a round of 69. The win served as a gift for Ellers who was celebrating her 80th birthday. Susan Gantt and Cassie Battey of Andalusia finished in second with a round of 73.

Molly Fowler and Fan Murray finished in first place in the First Flight with a round of 77 to edge out Lorene Crutchfield and Sue Lewis by one stroke. Wynene Youmans and Dean Morris finished third with a round of 80.

In the Second Flight, Jan Seymour and Angie Kelley of Andalusia posted an 81 to win. Marie Smet and Cookie Brown tied the duo of Carolyn Lorenzo and Pam Bell for second with rounds of 82.

In the Third Flight, Teresa Crowe and Jane Henderson teamed up to win the flight followed by Barbara Hudson and Linda France. Barbara Moore and Belinda Bradburn finished in third.

In the Fourth Flight, Susan Murphy and Margie Colvin won. Carolyn Ricks and Ramona Fryer finished in second tied with Colleen Petrey and Sylvia Meeks.
