Ashley Williams, 18, dies suddenly

Ashley Williams, 18, the daughter of David and Nancy Williams of Andalusia, died Monday, Sept. 23 at a Birmingham hospital after a brief illness. Miss Williams, freshman at Auburn, became ill suddenly last weekend while at home and was taken to Birmingham. The cause is not yet known.

A graduate of Andalusia High School, she was in her first year of classes at Auburn University, where she joined the Chi Omega sorority, following in the footsteps of her older sister, Ginny.

&uot;I never saw Ashley without a huge, warm smile that radiated throughout the

room,&uot; said Christina Rouse, new member educator for Chi Omega Sorority at

Auburn.

&uot;She welcomed you with a hug and left you with a smile.&uot;

&uot;Ashley was so kind and so friendly,&uot; said Patricia Vick Moody, a former resident of Andalusia and chapter advisor for Chi Omega.

&uot;She was a beautiful, intelligent and talented young woman who will be dearly missed. Our hearts and our prayers go out to her family.&uot;

Miss Williams also had a younger sister, Katherine.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time and will be announced in tomorrow's edition of the Star-News.
