JACKSON – The Andalusia Bulldogs lost to a big and powerful Jackson Aggie team Friday night by a final score of 14-7.

Andalusia Head Coach Paul Woolley said the Bulldogs lost to a good team that lined up and moved the pile during the game.

"They're physical," Woolley said after the hard-fought loss. "They out-physicalled us tonight.

"They'll knock your brains out and that is just West Alabama football,' he added.

Woolley said turnovers also hampered the Bulldogs chances as well as big plays by the Aggies.

The game began with a big play for the Aggies when Eric Bracey received the opening kickoff and returned it from the Aggie 10-yard line all the way to the Andalusia's 31.

Two plays later, Aggie quarterback Demond Williams scored on a 29-yard run off of an option play. The extra-point attempt by Lenard Gaston was good and the Aggies were on top 7-0 with 10:59 remaining in the first quarter.

Andalusia's offense struggled in the early going before marching the ball to the 10-yard line on the third Bulldog possession of the contest.

The drive ended, however, when Andalusia decided to go for it on a first-and-three play from the Aggie 10-yard line. A fumble by Richard Justice on the play turned the ball over to

the Aggies at the nine-yard line.

Jackson failed to take advantage of the turnover with a score. The turnover, however, stopped an Andalusia drive and allowed the Aggies to run more time off of the clock and gain field position.

Neither team managed to score the remainder of the first half with the Aggies on top 7-0 at the intermission.

In the second half, the Bulldogs knotted the score at 7-7 by marching down the field on the opening possession of the second half for a touchdown.

Andalusia quarterback C.T. Eldridge capped off the 10-play scoring drive with a five-yard run on a bootleg for the TD. David Kyle's PAT was good out of the hold of Josh Dutton and the score was tied at 7-7.

The Andalusia defense held the Aggies in check forcing a punt.

The Bulldog offense came back on the field and marched the ball from the 47-yard line to the 23-yard line where a third-and-three play loomed large. The Aggies Demond Williams intercepted an Eldridge pass at the three on a diving attempt to halt the drive.

The Aggie offense responded with a scoring drive with Bracey doing most of the damage on a 75-yard touchdown run on an end around with 11:06 remaining in the game. The PAT was good and the Aggies had a 14-7 lead.

Justice fumbled the ball on the next Andalusia possession and the Aggies ate up three minutes before turning the ball over to the Bulldogs on downs. Andalusia, however, went three and out punting the ball back to the Aggies with 6:14 left in the game.

The Andalusia offense never got another chance as the Aggies drove the ball down the field eating up clock to secure the win.

The Aggies used up the entire 6:03 remaining in regulation with the quarterback taking the snap and kneeling on the final play of the game.
