Lady Bulldogs win

The short trip to Red Level resulted in a short match for the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs with a sweep of the Lady Tigers in high school volleyball action on Tuesday.

Andalusia won the varsity match 15-2, 15-1.

The Lady Bulldogs went on top 1-0 when Mary Beth Wilkes got a kill after a serve by Hope Riley.

The next serve, however, was a fault for a side-out.

Both teams struggled in the early going until Andalusia stretched the lead to 11-0 behind the serving of Mary Beth Wilkes. Katie Tyler and Kristan Champion had kills during the Andalusia run.

Red Level got a side-out and managed to score two points behind the serving of Ashley Myrick.

The Lady Bulldogs, however, earned a side-out and rolled off four consecutive points behind the serving of Tyler to win the first game of the match.

In the second game, Andalusia built an early 4-1 lead.

Then, after a series of side-outs Mary Beth Wilkes served for nine consecutive points and a 15-1 win.

In junior varsity action, Andalusia earned the win via a final score of 15-8, 15-1.

In the first game of the match, Meagan Faust served for two points to give Andalusia an early 2-0 lead.

Jerica Holley, however, did her one better serving for three points for Red level and a 3-2 lead.

The JV Lady Bulldogs rallied to score six consecutive points behind the serving of Meghan Sasser for an 8-3 lead.

Later in the match, Katie Enzor served for five points, including one via an ace, to stretch Andalusia's lead to 14-6.

Andalusia won the first game after six side-outs, including four on service faults.

Sasser served for game point and the Lady Bulldogs got it for a 15-8 win.

In the second game of the JV match, Andalusia recorded a 15-1 win.

Hannah Bush served for 10 consecutive points in the match, including two aces, to give the JV Lady Bulldogs a 12-0 lead.

Red Level earned a point later in the match behind the serving of Brandi Pittman.

Andalusia, however, came out on top when Sasser served for the final two points of the match and a 15-1 win.

Both teams return to action on Thursday when the Lady Bulldogs host a tri-match set to begin at 4 p.m. Andalusia, Opp and Red Level will compete in the tri-match
