An Opp teenager was fatally injured, while two other young people received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident near the Antioch community Tuesday night.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m., at the intersection of the Antioch Road and a Holly Dirt Road.

Killed in the accident was 16-year-old Shaun Nicholas Johnson.

The driver of the car was listed as 16-year-old Trevor Richburg and another passenger identified as 15-year-old Lee-Andrea Owens.

All three persons were traveling in a 1984 Ford pickup truck at the time of the accident.

Both of the injured persons were not believed to have suffered serious injuries and were treated and released at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Alabama State Trooper Joe Lee, who responded to the scene of the accident, said the accident is still under investigation by troopers, but said Richburg stated that the brakes on the truck failed.

When this allegedly occurred, the truck went off the road, and Lee said it appeared the truck may have overturned approximately one time before coming to a rest.

Visitation for Shaun will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Wyatt Funeral Home and services will be at 10 a.m. Friday morning, also a at the Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel.
