Andalusia High School will be hosting many special activities for homecoming week coming up.

There is an assembly today to choose the homecoming court.

The big homecoming assembly will be at 8:15 a.m. on October 25. At the homecoming assembly, Joseph Wingard, English teacher and Andalusia High School's historian, usually gives brief histories of the classes that are being honored at the assembly, which are 1963, 1973, 1983 and 1993. They will acknowledge the classes all the way back to 1913.

The classes also do skits during the assembly. The skits go along with the theme of homecoming, which is fairy tales this year.

The skits are always fun for the participants and the students and alumni watching them.

There is also a door contest. In this, the first block classes must decorate the doors to the classrooms. The winner in this contest will win an ice cream sundae party.

There will also be a car contest for the clubs at the school. The car that has been decorated the best will win.

Andalusia High School is doing floats again this year. There will be a float contest between the classes.

School will be dismissed at 12 p.m. and the homecoming parade will begin at 2 p.m.

The homecoming game against the Thomasville Tigers will kick-off at 7:30 p.m. but get there at 7 p.m. to see the homecoming court and the floats. There will be a dance following the game until 12 a.m.
