Joe Eiland Stricklin Jr.

Joe Eiland Stricklin Jr., 48, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Friday, October 18, 2002 at his residence.

Mr. Stricklin was an engineer with Engles Shipyard.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Leroy Cole officiating.

Survivors include one son, Guy Strickland of Pascagoula; parents Joe and Laquette Stricklin of Brewton; two brothers, Mark Stricklin and Tim Stricklin, both of Brewton; one sister; Cindy Taylor of Brewton; two nephews, two nieces; two aunts, Drucilla (Frank) Feachen of Andalusia, Vivian (Dick) Bowen of Gantt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

Pallbearers included Dick Bowen, Frank Feachen, Ottis Reynolds, Mark Stricklin, Tim Stricklin and Mixon Sanders.

Ruth York Palmer

Ruth York Palmer, 93, of Andalusia died Sunday, October 20, 2002, in an Andalusia nursing facility.

Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Minister Douglas Williams officiating.

Survivors include two daughters, Lavenia Clower of Marietta, Ga., Frances Ptomey of Andalusia; one son, Sanford Palmer Jr. of Mobile; six grandchildren, Eddie Clower, Atlanta, Ga., David Clower of Atlanta, Ga., Nancy Jones of Andalusia, Sara Boone of Mobile, Joe Ptomey of Andalusia, Terry Palmer of Theodore; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Palmer Sr. and Grandson, Gary Palmer.

Pallbearers will include Jody Dillard, Esker Thomasson, Charlee Thomasson, James Rabren, Glenn Hugghins and Curtis Thomasson.
