Shirley Eiland Brogden

Shirley Eiland Brogden, 86, passed away at her residence in Tuscaloosa on October 24, 2002, after a brief illness.

She was a native of Andalusia, but had made Tuscaloosa her home for the last 37 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, S. T. Brogden, and her son, Farrell Brogden.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Brogden (Gaynell) and Harold Brogden (Doreen), both of Tuscaloosa, and three daughters, Linda B. Palmer (Carl), of Huntsville, Lenorah B. Gibbons and Jean B. Buchanan, both of Tuscaloosa; a sister Opal E. Russell (Teasley) of Andalusia; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services were conducted in Tuscaloosa, on October 26. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations in her memory to the church or charity of one’s choice.

Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South is directing.

Claudia Quida Beck Mock

Claudia Quida Beck Mock, 82, of Prattville, formerly of Andalusia, died Monday, October, 28, 2002 in a Montgomery nursing facility.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pine Level Cemetery in the Hopewell community with Minister Joe DuBose officiating.

Survivors include a son, Sam and wife Carol of Prattville; a daughter, Dot and husband Alton "Pat" Patteson of Andalusia; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Jessie Brooks of Andalusia.
