Pumpkin Patch a fun treat

If you come out to St. Mary's Pumpkin Patch Saturday, you are almost guaranteed a great time.

There will be something for everybody. There are

arts and crafts booths, children's games, miniature horse rides, a bake sale, a yard sale, a raffle and, my favorite part, a band, Small Town Oddities will be playing from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

I have only attended the Pumpkin Patch one time, but it was a lot of fun.

Even if you don't particularly want to participate in the festivities, you can still have fun watching the children play all of the games.

Some of the games include go fish, checkers, face and painting. There will be a local potter, Jo Kelley, to demonstrate to the kids. There will also be a "moonwalk" for the children to play and bounce around in.

The yard sale will begin at 7 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. The Pumpkin Patch festivities will start at 9 a.m.

The yard sale will be held in the old Church Street School gymnasium and the rest of the festivities will be in Robinson Park.

This is the fifth year St. Mary's Pumpkin Patch will be held. It was moved to the park this year because of the construction at the church.

I think it is a great thing they are doing. Not only will it be raising funds for the church but it is giving children and adults a fun place to go spend a Saturday morning or afternoon.

There will be no admission charge and there will be tickets sold for the games for $0.25 to $0.50.

This event provide so many different things to do, everyone can have a great time.
