Pierce, Bennett win Snowden Sausage Golf Tournament

The first hole of the playoff is where Jonathan Pierce and Todd Bennett won the Snowden Sausage Golf Tournament at the Evans Barnes Golf Course on the campus of LBW Junior College on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Pierce and Bennett were tied with the duo of Tim Howell and Mike DuBose after one round of golf with a score of 67. Pierce and Bennett then won the first flight of the tournament on the first playoff hole.

Tommy Kanaley and Mark Chambers finished in third with a round of 69 followed by the duo of Donald Bryan and Benji Kinsaul with a round of 70.

In the second flight, Ricky Dreading and Kenny Merrill finished in first place followed by the duo of Hyram Lambert and Rodney Garvin. Bobby Hill and Chip Hill teamed up to win third-place honors. Fourth place went to Chuck Bitel and Dale Anderson.

The winning golfers split $350 in Chamber cash prize money with first place taking home $140 in Chamber cash. Second place earned $100 in Chamber cash. Third place won $70 in Chamber cash and fourth place won $40 in Chamber cash.

All of the golfers were treated to complimentary breakfast and lunch.

Sausage was provided for the meals by tournament sponsor Snowden Sausage. Biscuits were provided by the Big Little Store of River Falls. Drinks were provided by Coca-Cola.
