The Thanksgiving holiday driving period got off to a shaky start in Covington County as separate wrecks on County Road 70 were reported by the Alabama State Troopers.

According to a spokesperson with the State Troopers, at approximately

2:55 p.m. on Wednesday, there was a two-vehicle accident on County Road 70.

The first car was a 1997 Dodge driven by Justin Hines, 20, of Quitman, Miss., while the second automobile was a 1984 Pontiac driven by Robert Bradley Vickery, 22, of Greenville.

Both Hines and Vickery received injuries in the wreck, and the AST spokesperson said Trooper Robert Fisher was the trooper at the scene and is the one conducting the investigation.

Then on Thanksgiving Day at approximately 1:10 a.m., there was another wreck, this time a one-vehicle mishap, which occurred on County Road 70.

The AST reported that the car was a 1984 Ford driven by Gerald Wayne Jackson, 38, of Andalusia.

Jackson received injuries in the wreck and Trooper Jason Burch was the officer who responded.
