Alice J. Wilson

Alice J. Wilson, 99, formerly of Andalusia, died in Wesley Terrace Nursing Facility in Auburn, Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002. She was born in Geneva County on Sept. 24, 1903. Her parents were Jessie and Louis Johnson. She and Porter Wilson who died in 1991, were married for seventy years. She is survived by three children, Hazel Cofield of Dunwoody, Ga., Marilyn (Merrill) Butler of Sylvester, Ga. and Dr. Stanley P. (Barbara) Wilson of Auburn. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Andalusia and had been active in the Mentor Club and the Fleur-de-Lis Garden club. She was a full-time homemaker and her skills in that area were worthy of note. She took great pride in her immediate and extended family throughout her life.

A funeral service in Foreman Funeral Home Chapel was held at 11 a.m. with Joel Faircloth, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Andalusia officiating assisted by Herb Carlisle, longtime friend and former Senior Adult Minister.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Andalusia.

Pallbearers include Daniel R. Wilson, Lt. col. Michael S. Wilson, David Butler, Kenneth Swaringer, Max Wright and Chris Butler.

Benjamin Glen Greathouse

Benjamin Glen Greathouse, 89, of Andalusia died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003 in her residence.

He was a retired painter and deacon emeritus of Southside Baptist Church.

Funeral services was held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Miller and Rev. Earl Currenton officiating. Special music was provided by Scott Dyess and accompanied by Vandalyn Maddox, pianist. Burial followed at Adellum Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include wife, Voncile Greathouse of Andalusia; one daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Kim Dyess of Andalusia; one son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Gerri Greathouse of Andalusia; five grandchildren, Scott Dyes, Steve Dyess, Sharon Davis, Glen Greathouse and Chris Greathouse; 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday at Foreman Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund.

Pallbearers were J.C. Thompson, John Wayne Thompson, Tyson Thompson, Jody Thompson, Durwood Bass, Leamon Hudson.

L.B. Cooley

L.B. Cooley, 77, of Lynn Haven, Fla. died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at a Panama City Nursing Facility.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003 at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Knowles officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include wife, Norma Smith Etheridge Cooley of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two step-sons, Robert Etheridge of Perdido, Fla., Joe Etheridge of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; three step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held after 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at Foreman Funeral Home.

David Ashley Harris

David Ashley Harris, 47, of Dozier died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at a Pensacola Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 at Foreman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Canant at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Ashley and Tanis Lynn Harris of Andalusia, David Andrew and Katrina Sutton Harris of Andalusia; three grandchildren, Peyton Harris, Gabrielle Harris, Mary Kathryn Harris; father, Wyatt Harris of Gantt; one sister, Gail Harris Davis of Lounge.

He was preceded in death by mother, Kathryn Etheridge Harris; two brothers, Jimmy Harris and Donnie Harris.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Foreman Funeral Home.

SFC Wayne G. Warner

SFC Wayne G. Warner, 77, of Andalusia died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at his residence.
