Pleasant Home fell behind to Laurel Hill 2-0 in the top of the second inning in Thursday's high school baseball game, but refused to drop to 0-2 on the season.

The Eagles stretched out their wings and climbed high in the bottom of the second inning scoring four runs for a 4-2 lead.

Tyler Lawson started off the Pleasant Home rally when he was awarded first base after being hit by a pitch. Troy Turman was the next batter and drew a walk to put Eagles on first and second. Brad Sanders then reached base on an infield single to load the bases.

Josh McCraney was the next batter, but he popped up in the infield for the first out.

Heath Rolling jump started the rally back to life with an RBI-hit to plate Lawson.

Scotty McCraney was the next Pleasant Home batter and ripped a two-RBI single to plate Turman and Sanders.

Josh McCraney was thrown out trying to score in the inning for the second out, but Laurel Hill did not get out of the inning until Scotty McCraney scored when Daniel Barrow's hit was misplayed by the shortstop.

The score remained 4-2 until the top of the fifth inning when Laurel Hill cut Pleasant Home's lead to one run at 4-3.

The Eagles answered in the bottom half of the inning when Sanders, Josh McCraney and Rolling scored. Rolling had an RBI-single in the inning. Scotty McCraney had his second big hit of the game with another two-RBI single.

The Eagles went into the sixth inning with a 7-3 lead and shut down Laurel Hill the rest of the way for a 7-3 win.

Turman started the game on the mound for Pleasant Home and went the distance allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out 10 in the win.

The Eagles return to the diamond March 14 when they participate in a county tournament.
