A search for a 38-year-old woman in Florala came to a happy conclusion Tuesday afternoon.

Florala resident Penny Cook had been reported missing on Sunday afternoon, and after there was a 48-hour waiting period, the Florala Police Department began fully conducting a report regarding Cook.

According to a spokesperson from the police department, Cook was reported missing and apparently she had gotten lost and her car had experienced some problems due to heavy rains.

The spokesperson added, though, that Cook was located at around noon Tuesday on Caton Road.

She said Cook was hungry, but appeared to have experienced no other problems, other than a slight knee injury which is currently being accessed at Florala Memorial Hospital.

In an unrelated matter, a spokesperson with the Opp Police Department said there has been no news to report regarding the continued search for 37-year-old Opp resident Susie Lucille Phillips, although several bits of rumor and speculation continue to surface.

Phillips was last seen in Opp on Friday, Feb. 21 at around 10:15 p.m.

She is described as being 5-foot-6 and weighing 133 pounds, with long brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who has information about the whereabouts of Phillips is asked to contact the Opp Police Department at 334-493-4511.
