An accident at Pleasant Home School Wednesday afternoon resulted in the minor injury to the school's Agriculture teacher.

According to Blake Turman of the Alabama State Troopers, the accident occurred at around 3 p.m. when an 18-year-old student hit teacher Gerald Padgett and knocked him to the ground.

Turman said when Padgett fell he experienced what appeared to be a minor head injury, and shortly afterward the teacher was transported by the Andalusia Rescue Squad to Andalusia Regional Hospital for observation.

He said the incident is still under investigation, as State Troopers responded to the scene as well as members of the Covington County Sheriff's Department.

Turman said the student who hit Padgett was shaken by the incident.

"(The student, who was driving a 1998 Ford F-150 ) was shaken up pretty good, but he should be," said Turman.
