Dave Redden and Scott Morse picked up their first wins at South Alabama Speedway last saturday night.

Redden took the win in the new Vintage class. Morse earned the win in the Street Stock class.

In the Vintage Feature, Steve Stewart took the early lead before Redden took over on lap six. Redden was able to get a good run off turn four and moved inside of Stewart as they headed down the front stretch. Redden then held off the challenge of Teddy Sasser to earn his first win at South Alabama. Stewart held on to finish third, followed by Travis Watson and Steve Joyner.

In the exciting Street Stock Feature, Derek Deese took the lead at the start followed closely by Brian Martin. Deese and Martin had a close battle early before Deese pulled away.

Deese ran up on a lapped car on lap 11 and got blocked in which allowed Martin to pull to the outside and take the lead at the stripe.

Contact between the pair in turn one sent both cars spinning and to the rear of the pack. Morse, running third at the time, took over the lead followed by Harold Hurt.

On lap 20, Martin and Deese went high and low trying to get by Hurt. Going three wide into turn three, Martin, running on the outside, spun and collected Deese, ending Deese's night. Morris, meanwhile was alone out in front of the pack and held on to score his first win. Hurt was second with Martin third. Deese was credited with fourth with fifth going to Wesley Griffin.

In the Super Stock Feature, Brian Fuller survived a spin on the start to capture his first win in that division.

At the start, Fuller's tires broke loose and he spun going into turn one. On the restart, Fuller got a good jump and led the field going into the first turn. Fuller led all 25 laps, but had to hold off Jessie Reid on a lap 20 restart to get the winner's trophy. Reid was able to get to the inside of Fuller, but Fuller regained the advantage going into turn one. Reid held on to finish second, followed by David Ashley. Jody Henderson was fourth with Ken Pettis fifth.

Shep Lucas made it two for two in the Modified class, taking the

Feature win over 2002 Modified Champion Kevin Peel. Lucas led all 25 laps, but had to deal with Peel for much of the race. Peel was able to keep it close, but Lucas held his line to back up his Rattler Weekend win. Doug Rogers was third, Rege Hellett fourth , and Jamie Ater fifth.

In the Roadrunner Feature, Ricky Osborn led the first 18 laps, but as he slowed late in the race, Sam Smith was able to run him down and steal away the win. Todd Boswell was second with Will Mack third. Jerry Hudson was fourth with Osborn slipping back to fifth.
