Red Level Tigers whip Hillcrest

A trip to Evergreen proved to be one down victory lane for the Red Level Tigers.

The Tigers clawed their way out to an early lead and never looked back securing a 15-5 win against the Hillcrest Jaguars in high school baseball action. The Tigers won the game in six innings via the 10-run mercy rule used by the Alabama High School Athletic Association.

Russell Rigdon started the game on the mound for the Tigers

and went the distance. He allowed five runs on five hits and two walks in six innings. He record six strikeouts against the Jaguars.

On offense, the Tigers had some stars shine as well.

Kyle Skipper was 2-for-2 at the plate against Hillcrest with a two-run home run in the victory. He ended the game with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Frank Tolbert also had a big game batting. Tolbert ended the game going 2-for-3 at the dish with a triple. He had three RBIs and scored two runs in the win.

Larry Hudson also had a good game on offense. Hudson was 2-for-3 against the Hillcrest Jaguars . He scored one run and had three RBIs in the win.

The Red Level Tigers are slated to return to the diamond today when the travel to Straughn for a doubleheader against the Straughn Tigers. The first game is set to begin at 4 p.m.
