Pleasant Home School has filled the head football coaching vacancy created by the departure of Anthony Clark, who accepted the head basketball coaching job at UMS-Wright in Mobile.

Jimmy Reeves, who has served as an assistant football coach for the Eagles, has been named the new head coach.

One vacancy, however, remains.

The Eagles are still looking for a head basketball coach.

Pleasant Home School Principal Jim Garner said the job is being advertised.

"We announced it Friday of last week," Garner said. "We are looking for someone who will be our head basketball coach with a major in science or social studies. We also are looking for someone with experience in football so they can help there."

Garner is bound to get several applications considering the success of the Eagles in recent years. The goal is to get a head coach with experience to continue the tradition of Pleasant Home basketball.

"I'd like to have someone who is proven and can teach the game," Garner said. "I'd like a disciplinarian who can teach the fundamentals of the game."

The next Covington County Board of Education meeting is in May. Garner said he does not know if he will have someone to recommend by that meeting but he hopes to fill the vacancy quickly.
