Solid pitching by three Andalusia hurlers and a potent offense added up to an 8-0 win against the visiting Jackson Aggies in high school baseball action Monday.

The Bulldogs went on top 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning when Michael Dutton reached base on a two-out double and scored on an RBI-double to right field by Neal Patterson.

When he wasn't knocking in runs, Patterson was on the mound shutting down the Aggies for three innings. He allowed two hits and one walk while striking out two. He also picked off a runner and got an outstanding performance form his defense, including a 5-3-6 double play in the top of the second inning.

The Bulldogs added to the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Andrew Harry reached on a double and scored when Dutton reached on a two-base error by the Aggie second baseman.

Will Cammack came in to pitch in the fourth for Andalusia and went two innings. He also shut down the Aggies allowing no runs. He struck out the last four batters he faced.

Trevor Mathews and Tyler Wilson scored in the bottom of the fifth to give Andalusia a 4-0 lead. Wilson and Harry had RBIs in the inning.

The Bulldogs struck for four runs in the top of the sixth inning to stretch their lead to 8-0.

Mathews, Daniel Wall, Wilson and Cole Sightler scored in the inning. Wilson, Sightler, Jake Hollingsworth and Harry had RBI-hits in the frame.

Harry went to the mound in the top of the seventh for the Bulldogs and kept the Aggies from scoring. He allowed a walk, but got a fly out, a strike out and a grounder back to the mound to end the game.

The Bulldogs came into the game after falling to Northview 8-7 in 11 innings on Friday. Patterson, Wall, Harry, Jacob McCollough, Sightler and Dutton scored in the loss. Dutton scored twice.
