Katie Benson

Katie Benson, 71, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003 in a Montgomery hospital.

Memorial services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003 at New Hope Lutheran Church on Montgomery Street with Pastor Richardson officiating. Special music was provided by the family. Keahey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangments.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Lance and Linda Brooks of South Carolina, Stacey Brooks, Hoboken, N.J., Philip Grossi of Hoboken, N.J.; daughters and sons-in-law, Emily and Tom Yehling of Andalusia, Sue Clive and the late Bob Clive of Andalusia; six grandchildren, D.J. Daris, Stephanie Stokes, Tammy Harper, Whitney Clive, Jill Brooks and Sara Brooks; six great-grandchildren, Lisa Clark, Timothy Clark, Zachary Daris, Andrew Daris, John Daris and Bryant Harper.

Virginia Cook Butler

Virginia Cook Butler, 72, of the Demopolis and Andaluisa, died Monday, May 5, 2003 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow in the Butler family cemetery in the Harmony Community.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to the Comfort Care Hospice or the charity of one's choice.

Survivors include her daughter, Mitzi Butler of Andalusia; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debbie Butler of Demopolis; three grandchildren, Brooks, Blake and Bart; one sister, Edna Earl Edgidio of Ovedio, Fla.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Irene Butler; brother-in-law, Henry Seymour of Andalusia; sister-in-law, Blanche Cook of Mobile; sister-in-law, Mary Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Butler.

Rosa Lee Dubose Johnson

Rosa Lee Dubose Johnson, 85, of Andalusia died Friday, May 2, 2003 in an Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003 at the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Andaluisa Memorial Cemetery with President Will Farley officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing the service.

Survivors include two sons, Lamar Dubose of Andalusia, Danny Leon Dubose of Dothan; two daughters, Betty Collins of Fayetteville, Ga., Martha Rogers of Shrevport, La.; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Beck of Atlanta.

Opal Veasey Chatman

Opal Veasey Chatman, 81, of Andalusia died Saturday, May 3, 2003 in a Montgomery hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 5, 2003 at the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in following in the Enon Cemetery with Rev. Wilson Meadows officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Survivors included her sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Wanda Veasey and Ricky and Calmese Veasey; three daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Little, Altheia and Dennis Meeks, Janese McDuffie all of Andalusia; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Odean Worley; a half brother, Eddie Carnley; a half sister, Peggy Clark of Andalusia; a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers included Clint Veasey, Brandon Veasey, Michael Little, Burt McDuffie, Chris Kozlowski, Brian Kozlowski and Tanner Carrol.
