Discover just how much fun fishing can be when you do it together. No activity can bond a family together quite like fishing. It's a great way for families to have fun, create new memories and spend time together. Check out these events planned for Alabama's Free Fishing Day on June 7:

Conecuh Youth Fishing Derby - Events include a fishing derby, casting contests, informational booths, educational demonstrations and lunch. This event is free for youth up to age 16 if supervised by parents or guardians. Held at Open Pond in Andalusia, the events begin at 8 a.m. and continues until 1p.m. For more information contact Alex Boldog at 222-2555.

Ninth Annual Youth Fishing Tournament - Youth Fishing Tournament available to Children 15 years and younger, at the pond on Lowndes County Wildlife Management Area near White Hall from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information call (334) 872-9554

Tuskegee Youth Fishing Derby - Begins at 7:30 a.m. and continues until 1 p.m. at Big Pond in Tuskegee. Events include a fishing derby, casting contests, informational booths, educational demonstrations and lunch. This event is free for youth up to age 16 if supervised by parents or guardians. Pratt Park Kids' Fishin' Fest - In Prattville's Pratt Park from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. for youth ages 5 through 15 that are accompanied by an adult. For more information call Denise Corley at (334) 361-3640.

Pike County Lake Kids' Fishing - Held at Pike County Public Fishing Lake near Troy. All youth ages 15 and younger who are accompanied by an adult may participate. Call Mike Newman for information at (334) 347-9460.
