Lady Bulldogs earn win

The Charles Henderson High School Trojans of Troy visited Andalusia last night for high school basketball action.

The varsity boys' game saw the Trojans record a 56-43 win.

The Trojans went on top 15-6 in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs rallied with a run in the second quarter and trailed by just three points at the halftime break.

The Trojans, however, outscored Andalusia 21-8 in the third quarter and went on to record a 56-43 win.

Brandon Wilson was the leading scored for Andalusia with 24 points. Also scoring were Josh Johnson, Lance Evans, Michael Cauley, Andrea Wright and Chris Cotton.

Jason Swanson scored 16 points for Charles Henderson. Ray Money added 12 points on four 3-pointers. Quavan Lewis hit for 10 points.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Trojans. Andalusia went on top early building a 12-7 lead in the first quarter and were on top 30-20 at the halftime intermission.

Andalusia added to the lead in the third quarter en route to a 64-36 win.

Ashley Johnson led the way with 25 points. Ann Huff added 12 points. Also scoring for Andalusia were Kathy Crittenden, Tanesha Wright, April Daniels, Jermecia McNeil and Apri Kilgore.

Bridgette Dix was the leading scorer for Charles Henderson with 12 points. Quoya Dubose added 10 points.

The Andalusia B-team Bulldogs fell to Charles Henderson by a final score of 51-43 last night. O'Darrius James was the leading scorer with 12 points. Tyler Centner added 10 points. Also scoring for AHS were Alex Taylor, William Alverson, Kevin Huff, Jacob Cauley and Cherno Bah.

On Thursday, the Andalusia teams played at Pike County High School in Brundidge.

The B-team Andalusia Bulldogs lost 55-30. O'Darrius James was the leading scorer with 8 points. Also scoring were Alex Taylor, Trip Jones, William Alverson, Kevin Huff, Jacob Cauley, Tyler Centner and Cherno Bah.

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs defeated Pike County 64-30 after building a 46-16 lead in the first half.

Ashley Johnson was the leading scorer with 15 points. Ann Huff, Kathy Crittenden and Apri Kilgore added 12 points each. Tanesha Wright, Jermecia McNeil, Briana Cross and April Daniels also scored.

Kendra Lumpley scored 10 points for Pike County.

The Andalusia Bulldogs fell to Pike County by a final score of 74-30.

Elijah Daniel, Nick Walker and Chris Nickson scored 10 points each for Pike County in the win.

The Andalusia High School basketball teams return to action on Monday when they travel to Brantley to play the Brantley Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs play at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity boys' game.

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs will also host the Class 4A, Area 1 Tournament beginning Tuesday. The Bulldogs will travel to Hillcrest High School in Evergreen for the Boys' Class 4A, Area 1 Tournament beginning on Thursday.
