U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) today announced that Carson Moseley of Greenville and Jennifer Huddleston of Florence will be the Alabama delegates to the 43rd Annual United States Senate Youth Program in Washington, DC.

Carson Moseley is President of the Student Government Association at Fort Dale Academy in Greenville. Carson was recently elected as the state auditor at Alabama's Boys State. As an active community volunteer, Carson founded and implemented H.A.T.S. (Housing Authority Tutoring Services), an after-school tutoring program designed to serve underprivileged children.

&uot;I am sure that Jennifer and Carson will do an excellent job representing Alabama at this year’s United States Senate Youth Program.

I applaud them for taking advantage of this important program and for developing an understanding of how our nation’s government operates,&uot; Sen. Shelby said.

Jennifer Huddleston is the Student Council Parliamentarian at Florence High School. Sen. Shelby first met Jennifer when she served as a page in the United States Senate.

In addition, she is an active member of the Red Cross, the French National Honor Society, and she received the Citizenship Award in the U.S. Senate Page Program.

They are among 104 delegates who will receive a $5,000 college scholarship, and spend the week of February 26 to March 5, in Washington,

DC studying the federal government with a specific focus on the United States Senate.

They will also have the opportunity to meet with leading cabinet members, a Supreme Court Justice and several key Congressional policy makers.
