Chip Taylor, who has twice won the Pepsi Pitch, Hit and Run sectional baseball competition, has another award to add to his trophy case at home.

Taylor was named Most Valuable Player of his team after the Astros closed out the Minor League season on Thursday with a 15-5 victory over the Red Sox.

Taylor was one of 13 players named to the Greenville Minor League All-Star team. The all-star team will compete for the sub-district title June 25 in Brantley.

Fellow Astros teammate Michael Meyers was given the Sportsmanship Award.

The Astros finished the season with a 10-2 record to claim first place in the league.

Cade Tillery was named MVP of the Orioles, which finished second in the league with a 7-5 record. Tillery led the Orioles to a season-ending 6-4 victory over the White Sox. In that game, Tillery pitched six innings and struck out 15 batters.

Tillery's teammate John Coleman Poole was given the sportsmanship award.

Andy Burns was named MVP of the White Sox, which finished third in the league. Roscoe Moorehead was given the sportsmanship award.

Ryan Taylor earned MVP honors for the Red Sox, which managed four wins on the season. Ben Presley was tabbed with the sportsmanship award.

David Miller was named MVP of the Cubs, while Devonte Posey was given the sportsmanship award.
