G & S Auto Exchange will celebrate its grand opening this week with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday morning.

The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. for the new car dealer located at 1612 E. Commerce St.

Gene Skipper is a Greenville native who has been selling cars for the last 29 years.

"I was a sales manager at Capital Chevrolet in Montgomery for eight years," he said. "I believed that Greenville needed a place like this, so I decided it was time to come home."

G & S Auto is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Sue Skipper and Connie Johnson are sales associates who can help anyone when purchasing a car.

"People think you have to go to Montgomery to get reliable service when you can get it right here in town," Skipper said.

This particular area had been home to many things, Rex's Carwash being one of the most well known.

Skipper tore down the old building and has built a new facility.

"This side of town is growing rapidly, especially because of the Hyundai plant coming in," he said.

"There is a lot of traffic back and forth to Luverne, so this is an easily accessible place."

Also located on the same site is Greenville Towing, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"We provide service for any kind of towing and roadside assistance," he said.

"This includes emergency tire changes, locking your keys inside your car, or even running out of gas."

Allen Jackson and Royce Campbell are the tow-truck operators, and they have a combined experience of over 30 years.

"We even work with all kinds of motor club towing companies, such as On-Star," Skipper said.
