Luverne, Brantley welcome #039;96 class

Luverne and Brantley Schools will celebrate homecoming on Friday night.

At Luverne, the Class of 1996 will be honored guests for all the day's activities.

A reception will be held for the alumni at 10 a.m. in the high school library with

formal presentation of the queen and her court starting at 11 a.m. in the gymnasium.

A homecoming parade will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Hors d'oeuvres will be served to the returning class Friday night in the cafeteria and they will also be special guests at the Luverne- Beulah football game that night.

Reigning over the day's activities will be Homecoming Queen Mallory McDougald.

Mallory, a senior, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McDougald.

Members of her royal court are:

Senior Attendant, Miss Gerteigra Betton, daughter of Ms. Nanci Betton; Junior Attendant, Miss Kimberly Sanders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darren Sanders; Sophomore Attendant, Miss Brittney Holston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Whatley; and

Freshmen attendant is Miss Ashley Hall, daughter of Shirley Hall and Donald Arnold.

Scepter bearer is Little Miss Alexis Parks daughter of Ms. Nitika Parks and Mr. Fernando Pickett and Crown Bearer is Master La'Taevis Forbes son of Antonio and Linda Forbes.

Football sweethearts for 2005 are Noel Pittman,

daughter of Teresa Motes and John Motes,

and Alexis Bell daughter of Flessia Bell and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Bell.

These young ladies are members of the senior class and were selected by the LHS Football Team.

Football spirits are Little Miss Mary Kendall Motes daughter of Ms. Shannon Motes and Master Nick Baugh son of Amy Baugh and Kevin Baugh.

In Brantley, Brantley School will celebrate Homecoming by playing Florala this Friday night at 7 p.m.

The schedule for homecoming day includes a Pep Rally at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Class of 96's Tour of School at 10:30 a.m., A luncheon for the class will be held in Library at 11 a.m. with an assembly to follow at 12:30 p.m.,

The parade will start at 1:30 pm and the Presentation of Court wil be at halftime during the game.

Members of Brantley's Homecoming Court are: Jessica Daniels, Miss Football; Megan Holmes, Freshman Attendant; Kelsey McCray, Senior Attendant; Kasey Free, Junior Attendant; Sherry Gully, Sophomore Attendant; and Lynley Godwin, Miss Football.
