Tomorrow night, Dec. 8, a number of downtown merchants will be open for a late-night shopping experience.

Shops will be open until 7 p.m. Thursday night, and those browsing among the wares can also enjoy seeing the beautiful lights of the downtown area.

Confederate Park, City Hall, the courthouse and more, will all decked out in their glowing holiday best, with more lovely decorations to be found inside the stores.

One lucky shopper just might win a stocking filled with gifts.

&#8220Not only will shoppers get to take advantage of specials offered by hometown merchants, they can also register for a stocking stuffed with gifts donated by a dozen local merchants. The stocking is valued at more than $350,” Main Street Executive Director Nancy Idland said. No purchase is required to enter the drawing.

Idland says the crisp, cold weather that has arrived this week should put everyone in the mood for some hometown Christmas shopping.

&#8220Come out Thursday night and enjoy the lights and decorations, visit with your friends and get service with a smile from our local merchants,” Idland said.
