Down East Boys

Down East Boys will be in concert on Friday night, Dec. 9, starting at 7 p.m. at Hale’s Chapel Baptist Church in Troy. The church is located nine miles south of Troy on Highway 29. Festival of Lights

Goshen Festival of Lights Parade and Camp Stew Cook Off Friday, December 9th at 6:00pm.

Activities include tree lighting, caroling, lighted floats, bon fire, street dance, food vendors, clogging, bake sale, bingo, luminaries and a visit from Santa.

$150, $100 and $75 Prizes for best floats.

Dec. 10

Concert at County Cathedral

The Dixie Echoes and the Dyess Family will be in concert on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Country Cathedral, located on Highway 84, six miles east of Opp. The concert will start at 7 p.m. No admission will be charged.

Brantley PTA invites you to breakfast with Santa Saturday, December 10th 7:30- 9:30am Brantley School Cafeteria.

The Next Noel

Luverne UMC hosts “The Next Noel,” a children’s Christmas musical under the direction of Stephanie Jones. See the sights and hear the sounds of these magical young voices preparing our hearts for the true meaning of Christmas at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Dec. 18

A Hillbilly Christmas

Faith Walk Ministries Church of God in Luverne presents “A Luverne Hillbilly Christmas” on Friday night, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m., and again on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. This comedy is based on the 60s television sitcom, “The Beverly Hillbillies.” Faith Walk Ministries is located at 153 Jeffcoat Street in Luverne. Christmas Fantasia

The Chancel Choir of Luverne UMC presents their Christmas cantata, “Christmas Fantasia” under the direction of Jim Head during the 11 a.m. service in the sanctuary.

Classic Christmas songs with exciting accompaniment and new twists, makes this a fantastic “Fantasia.”

Patsburg Christmas Cantata

Patsburg Baptist Church choir will present their Christmas Cantata, “Silent Night” Dec. 18th at 6:30pm.

This will be presented under the direction of Tim Dowdy, Music Minister and Kathy Dowdy, pianist.

Finger food will be served after the program.

The choir will present the Cantata at the Nursing Home December 18th at 2:30pm.

The Church group will travel to Florala, AL December 20th for their Christmas party at the Country Folks restaurant.

Tour of Homes

The 1st Annual Christmas “Tour of Homes” will be held Sunday, December 18th from 1:30 to 5:30pm.

It is being sponsored by Crenshaw Christian Academy’s Volunteers-Involved Parents-Staff (VIPS) Board Members.

Advance tickets are available at an individual rate of $10.00 per ticket or all four homes for a discounted rate of $35.00.

The homes participating are Terry Walden (Brantley), Camellia House Bed a& Breakfast (Luverne), Dale Shepherd (Luverne) and Janie Ward (Luverne).

Refreshments will be served at the CCA Library, beginning at 1:00 pm until 4:30pm.

Tickets will be available

at each home, the CCA Office, or you may contact Neva Petrey in the main office at CCA at 335-5749.

UMC hosts a Bryan Christmas

Luverne UMC hosts “A Very Bryan Christmas” with Keith and Cindy Bryan from Sprague, Ala. performing Christmas songs that will warm your heart and touch your soul.

Rock West Missionary Baptist Church in Goshen will hold its Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Charles Sankey Jr. is the pastor.

Christmas Eve Communion

Luverne UMC will celebrate Christmas Eve with “Carols, Communion and Candles” staring at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. Bring your family to this 30-minute service in relaxed attire for a beautiful service to highlight your Christmas season.
