Butler County businessman and cattle farmer Johnny Lee has announced his intentions to run for probate judge as a Republican.
Lee, a graduate of Auburn University and certified public accountant for over 30 years, said his accounting and tax business in Greenville gives him an insight into the challenges faced by small businesses today.
“As a 30-year resident of Greenville, I am familiar with the problems and opportunities of the city and county,” he said. “I will be a full time Probate Judge serving all the people fairly, honestly with courtesy and efficiency. If you want the office returned to the people, vote for me. I will be your voice in the courthouse. I will never be hesitant to voice my opinion on your behalf.”
Lee said his education and management experience in the corporate arena has prepared him for the job of Probate Judge. Lee spent 28 years with Union Camp Corporation, (now International Paper), working a majority of the time in Chapman as controller of Alabama Wood Product operations.
“This experience included supervising several departments with significant staffs,” he said.
Lee said he believes there should be diversity among county offices, which allow for different opinions and viewpoints for solving the problems facing Butler County.
“I believe that people of goodwill, working together can change our communities to offer a future for the young, security for our seniors and a better life for all residents.”
