Georgiana's Kenny Peterson just wishes he had another year to play basketball under Coach Jerome Harris III.

Peterson came into his own as a basketball player more this year with Harris giving Peterson the green light to shoot.

And there were some times during a game when Peterson never met a shot he didn't like.

Though the season he averaged more than 26 points per game and was one of two Butler County players named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State basketball teams.

&#8220I kinda wish that I could come back for another year or two,” Peterson said.

Peterson was selected to the Class 2A second team All-State team, while Fort Dale Academy senior forward Frances Watts was named to the first team in the Alabama Independent School Association.

During a span of 10 games toward the end of the season, Peterson averaged just shy of 40 points.

Peterson also was a true threat beyond the 3-point arc. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged more than five 3-pointers a game.

Like Peterson, Watts was a consistent force for Fort Dale this season offensively averaging more than 24 points per game in leading the Eagles to the Class AAA semifinals.

During Watts' career, she helped lead the Lady Eagles to a state title three seasons ago and a berth in the state finals last season.

In addition to her productivity on offense, she also was among the team's top rebounders with more than eight boards a game.
