The Greenville High Tiger Pride booster club will hold its annual kickoff dinner with Troy University's head football coach, Larry Blakeney as the guest speaker.

The dinner will be held at the Greenville High School auditorium May 11, at 7 p.m. with a dinner of ribeye steak, baked potato, salad and desert. The Tiger Pride booster club hopes everyone will come out and participate in the event and show their support for the Greenville High Tigers and meet new head coach Bryant Vincent.

&#8220The funds from this event go toward supporting the football team for items the school may not cover and to help feed the kids,” said Tiger Pride President Brian Gibson. &#8220We've picked up a lot of new members in the club and we're seeing a lot of intensity in the practices. The parents and the kids are excited and I think we're about to start a new era in Greenville football. I think the community is looking forward to it also.”

Gibson said Vincent knew Blakeney when he coached in Troy and got him to be our speaker. Coach Vincent had mentioned having this type of fundraiser and the club thought it would be a good idea to bring Coach Blakeney over to speak. We have a lot of Troy alumni here in Greenville and we expect a good turnout from them.

The event will be catered by the Crow's Nest in Andalusia.
