Dixie Minors All-Star team scores 22

John Dunn, Toby King and Roscoe Moorhead combined to throw a one-hitter Thursday night as the Greenville Dixie Minor All-Star team trounced the Georgiana All-Star team, 22-0.

Greenville batted around in the first inning and scored 11 runs off of three hits to seal the victory early.

Cade Tillery, Chase Whiddon and Ryan Burkette each had three hits apiece to lead Greenville offensively. Tillery finished with a pair of doubles while Whiddon also had a double.

Chip Taylor, Donte Lee, Harper Vinson and Michael Smith each scattered a single for Greenville with Taylor finishing with a triple and two stolen bases.

Tillery scored three runs for Greenville with Taylor, King, Dunn, Whiddon, Burkette, Lee, and Payton Frazier all scoring two runs apiece.

Vinson, Smith, Moorhead, Daniel Hall Autrey and Brady Edge also scored a run apiece, meaning all 13 Greenville players at least scored one run.

Georgiana's lone hit came in the final inning when Williams knocked a 3-1 pitch for a single.

Dunn picked up the win for Greenville while Crittenden picked up the loss for Georgiana. Dunn, King and Moorhead combined for 10 strikeouts on the night.

Greenville now plays Luverne Friday night at 6 p.m., while Georgiana plays Luverne Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

The championship game will be played Saturday night at 6 p.m., with another game to be played Monday night at 6 p.m. if necessary.
