After falling to Luverne 9-8 Friday night, the Greenville Dixie Belles All-Stars faced a must-win rematch Monday night in order to turn around and play Luverne one last time for the Sub-District Championship.

While Saturday's game went right down to the wire, Monday's game did not fair as well for Greenville, as Luverne scored all six runs in the third inning and held on to capture the Dixie Belles Sub-District Championship.

Erin Taylor got Greenville on the scoreboard in the third inning after walking and stealing second and third base, but by then, the damage had been done.

Taylor scored again in the sixth inning following a single, but it was too little, too late.

Taylor had the lone hit for Greenville.

For Luverne, Adrienne Grimes was the leading hitter with two hits, while teammates Rasheeda May, Courtney Strops and Eisha Person each scattered a hit.

Caroline Allen, Nicki Bailey, Sitembile Lee, May, Strops and Grimes all scored a run for the winning team.

Taylor Wright picked up the win for Luverne with eight strikeouts while Erin Taylor picked up the loss with five strikeouts.
