On Thursday night, Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce members and their guests got to view

a colorful array of children's clothing and toys, many of the items unique to the Camellia City.

The occasion was the latest COC &#8220After Hours” event, held at Prissy Britches in downtown Greenville.

Owners Cheryl and Dale Gates welcomed their guests with festive food and beverages and offered special discounts on the shop's spring and summer merchandise. Several lucky attendees also won valuable gift certificates to the children's shop.

Those who attended discovered Prissy Britches offers everything from cute &#8220Time Out” chairs and baby bedding, to wooden trains, puzzles, puppets and pirate's chests. Clothing lines for boys and girls include Michael Simon, Zackali-4-Kids and many more top-quality names.

The train table is a very popular spot for all the children visiting the shop.

&#8220I have to set it back up about three or four times a day, they love it,” Gates laughed.

Super-soft stuffed animals, pop-up books, all things &#8220dinosaur” and more can be found on the shop's shelves, along with colorful rain coats and galoshes that transform little girls and boys into ladybugs, flowers, frogs and firemen.

&#8220We offer some of the same names and styles people have been driving to Montgomery to buy, only our prices are about $8 to $10 cheaper,” Gates said.

Judy Gettys of Alabama Power said she would be telling her friends from Montgomery &#8220to stop by Prissy Britches on their shopping trips to Greenville.”

&#8220Grandmas love to buy for their little ones, and you have a lot of really cute, cute things here,” Gettys told Gates.

The business owners also shared some breaking business news at the event.

The salon housed in the same building as Prissy

has just been taken over by the Gates, who have renamed the business &#8220Bella.”

&#8220We have a master stylist, Jeff Williams, who will be bringing 35 years of salon experience to our salon. We hope to add a nail technician so we can bring back all our spa services, and possibly another cosmetologist,” Gates said.

The Gates said they would be redecorating and revamping the look of the new Bella Salon.

&#8220We do wish the previous owner Kristi Mayes and her family all the best in their new endeavor in Spanish Fort. We hope to continue to provide customers with that great salon service right here in downtown Greenville.”
