n Legion Meeting

The American Legion Post 24, Greenville Alabama, will meet at 1900 hours on 7 September 2006. The Legion meet the first Thursday of each month. All veterans are welcome. District 34 Commander, W.C. n Regal-Boss Reunion

The former Regal-Boss Manufacturing Employee Reunion will be Sat. Sept. 9 from 9:30 to 2 p.m. at Beeland Park. Bring a covered dish, old photos and make some new memories.

n Benefit for Colley Family

A benefit is being held for the Colley Family. At 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Scott Miller, pastor. Seeking choirs, solo artists and groups to come. Churches: $100 Groups: $50 Soloists: $25

Any donations will be appreciated.

n Fine Arts League Meeting

The Fine Arts League will be meeting at 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Greenville YMCA. All current and former members are encouraged to attend. Anyone who enjoys the visual arts is welcome to be a part of this group!

n HopeWell Homecoming

The HopeWell A.M.E. Zion Church Old Stage Road North (Secary Community) in Greenville will have their Homecoming and Revival starting Sunday Sept. 10 at 2:30 p.m. The afternoon speaker will be Elder Howard Jones and the New Hope Christian Church family of Calhoun.

Weekly service will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 11-14. Speaker for the week will be Elder Dale Braxton, Pastor of the Snow Hill Christian Church Mt. Willing.

n Chapman COG Revival

Radio evangelist and gospel recording artist Blu Braden will be at the Chapman Church of god Sept. 10 -15. Services slated for 11 a.m. Sunday morning and 7 p.m. Sunday night through Friday night, with special music each evening. A gospel singing is planned on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.

n Arts Council Gala Casting Call

The Greenville Area Arts Council will be holding an open casting call for all interested in performing in next March's gala benefit show. The casting call is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the Ritz. Performers should bring accompanist, CD or make arrangements in advance for music. n Parade of Jesus

Come one, come all, to a parade for Jesus at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. Event starts at Lowndes County Middle School to F.D. Community Bank. Decorate your cars, your motorcycles. School bands are welcome to come and show their stuff. Free food and drinks and door prizes. Jam For Jesus from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, come and share your songs or testimony. n FIW Vol. Fire Dept. Yard Sale

The FIW Fire Dept. will host a yard sale from 8 a.m. – until on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Firehouse on Hwy 106 East, Georgiana. Proceeds to benefit firehouse upkeep.

n Beth Chapman Barbecue Fundraiser

Greenville native Beth Killough Chapman, Republican candidate for Secretary of State, will meet and greet supporters at a barbecue lunch Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club in Greenville. Complete barbecue meal, including drinks and dessert will be provided. $15 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under. RSVP to 382-5324 in Greenville.

n Mt Pleasant Singing

Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Georgiana will host the Johnson Family Trio for a singing at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept 17. A finger food fellowship will follow. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

n Butler BOE Regular Meeting

The Butler County Board of Education will conduct its next regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept.21, 2006 at the BOE Central Office Boardroom located at 215 Administrative Drive, Greenville. The public is encouraged to attend.

n Super Saturday at Library

The Greenville-Butler County Public Library invites youngsters to its monthly Super Saturday event. Younger children's session at 9:30 a,m.; older children at 11 a.m. Storytelling, music, crafts and more. Call the library at 382-3216 for more info.
